Adam, his other friend on our street, ended up in the other class, which was a bummer. We did a little school tour and scored some popsicles at the end.
Our weekend was pretty packed with fun. On Monday night we went to BluBerry frozen yogurt as a family and Tyler gave father's blessings. Tuesday we hit up the Naval Undersea Museum {post below}. And Wednesday was the big day! Despite all the goodness, Max has been having a really hard time wanting to go to school the past few days. Tyler and I are taking it seriously and slowly and lovingly. I said a prayer with him right before school, we've done a lot of listening/question asking, and Tyler and I have talked about it a ton. Last night Ty climbed in the top bunk with him and snuggled him while he cried and talked. Today Ty is getting off work early to volunteer in his class {I love parenting with my husband; he totally rocks the Dad business!}, I volunteer on Thursdays, I walked him to school this morning instead of sending him in the carpool, and we'll just take it as it comes. I think the novelty of first grade has worn off a bit and it just feels l...o...n...g to him. He'd rather be playing at home and he misses us. He has a great teacher who we've been talking to and who is super helpful. And today he happily said goodbye when we got to school. We'll keep taking it as it comes.
