Adri's visit was all because Trent turned 30 {THANKS, TRENT!} He is a major Seahawks fan and so she bought him tickets to go to their Monday night football game. And she and the kids just had to tag along and make a long, wonderful weekend out of it! I want to cry writing about it; there are, in fact, tears stinging my eyes. It was so fun and I wish that we lived closer to cousins and family...but that they all lived closer to where we live because we love it here. Come to Washington, people!!!
Highlights: Adrianne and I got to run together {maybe for the last time 'cause she has tilted kneecaps and jacked knees}, we hiked Green Mountain {the kids were SO good...until they weren't. it was 5-miles in a drizzle with 8 kids ages 6 and under and we didn't even have snacks. awesome. but, really, it was overall fun}, spent a long time at Waterfront Park, the girls had matchy hair day, we picked blackberries {which we made into a delicious blackberry crisp...the kids were on the hunt for the Big and Juicies} and took our favorite stroll to a nearby farm, went to the Naval Undersea Museum, Ty and Trent went to the Seahawks game {it was the majorly controversial game against the Packers...you may have seen the "simultaneous possession" catch a few (hundred) times on tv?}, and the rest of us took pizza to Island Lake Park where we watched the kids play football and then came home to watch the game too. And one of my favorite parts of the weekend? Our double date! Oh my gosh, it was perfection. We went to dinner and then to mini golf. I'll never forget mini golf, Adrianne. ;) Maybe you can ask her more about it sometime. HA!
Oh, the memories. It was perfect. Thank you, Tippetts, SO much for coming!
I love my in-laws so much! We had the BEST time with them. And because they have been here several times, we did a lot of normal routine stuff and it was still super fun!
Highlights: Margaret came with me to Max and Tucker's well-child visits, Ty and Mickey went out to lunch, Margaret got to come and volunteer in Max's class {which was also show & tell day, so she got to be Max's show & tell...I should have taken a picture! Darn}, everyone {except me and Tucker} tagged along to watch Max's soccer practice {Tyler is the coach}, spent a beautiful afternoon at Waterfront Park, watched Kelly's adorable dance class, went on a double date, watched General Conference together, cheered Max on at his soccer game, went to BluBerry for frozen yogurt after the priesthood session, went to the church for one session of Conference, spent a beautiful afternoon at Scenic Beach Park, and sadly waved goodbye at the Silverdale Beach Hotel as they got on the airporter.
The kids LOVE their grandparents! They are both so wonderful and are so helpful and fun with the kids. I am so thankful that they make the time to come and spend time with us. We are SO lucky!
